Confessions of a Gym-Class Dropout Final Review

My favorite character is Travis because he put effort forward to try to beat Rocco's twenty-five push-ups.
"Hey, I don't make the rules. You want results or not?" I chose this to be my favorite quote because it goes with the story by him trying his hardest to do twenty-six push-ups. It means you need to try don't just aspect to get results for something your not trying to work towards. We don't make the rules you do because your the one looking for something not us.
I would tell my friends that are in the need of a little pushing for something to read this book. Any of my friends need the help to strive I will willing tell them to read this book.

Confessions of a Gym-Class Dropout

I read about Travis who wanted to beat this guy Rocco in push-ups. He decided it was time to start working out and getting buff so he could do pull-ups better then Rocco. By the time summer was over he was able to beat Rocco's push-ups which was twenty-six. Of curse Rocco went above twenty-six and had Travis feeling bad again.
I would say my connections with this book is that I always try to do better then the next with everything I do. Like during volleyball I see a person doing one of the amazing serves, so of curse I went for it.

Homeboy to the Rescue

This story is about three boys that are apart of a gang and are seeking for help to get out of them after all the problems it has caused for them.
I think that Father Boyle's philosophy of nothing stops a bullet like a job works because he ended up getting the boys out of the gang and off the streets now they are working hard and making something of there life.

Behind Brave

Bethany Hamilton was 13 years old when she was attacked by a shark. She was a champion and all this was put on the line the day she was attacked.
I say both because she got bit by a shark and sharks mouth is as big as fist. She had to rebuild her life which is even harder after you have learned how to do everything with both arms.
I feel like I survived after my mom's death I took it really hard I couldn't believe it but it took some time and crying to get it through my head that everything was okay and was going to be okay. It was Gods will for things like this to happen everyone goes through loosing someone but at the end of the day we are okay just keep praying.

Juanes life

Juanes life wasn't the best but he made the best out of it. He grew up in the hood. Being in his shoes would be hard for anyone because it wasn't the greastest. Juanes is a person that survied because he is now famous and not dead.
I think music can mean so much to people because just listening to sertain music makes you feel good about yourself. Never would have made it by Marvin Sapp is a song that makes me feel like there is hope because all the sturggles out there and I feel like I made it through the storm.

Teaching Chess and Life

I made connections with this because I have had a teacher that was there to help me out and talk to when needed. I have had teachers in the past that have helped me with any and everything I needed from them. It seemed like no matter what they kept me on track with my work and making sure I understood everything that was learned in class that day. Even till this day I keep in contact with them. They are trying to make sure I am in track and get the goals I want in life.
